For the record, I didn't intentionally put her under the water. I think some kid ran by and put a foot over one of the spouts therefore causing the one next to us to splash right on top of Violet's head. She never even made a peep about it.

Splashpad
One of the days we were in Texas last month visiting Uncle Tony, Aunt Natalie, Cousin Jude, Cousin Lilly, and Grandma and Grandpa we headed over to the splash pad near their house. It was Violets first time in any kind of water other than the bath. She mostly had the "concentrating/thinking" face going on. She never smiled, whined, or cried, but let out a little "ha" a couple of times. Jude on the other hand was having a blast. He was running and screaming with delight. It was so fun to watch him chase the water and get splashed. Sweet baby Lilly, not even a week old, snoozed it out in her sling. It was such a fun little time with the family.

3 months
This little munchkin is 3 (almost 4...ooops!) months old! She is growing and changing so much every day. She always wants to be sitting up and in on the action around her. Her new trick is to stand up (with our help obviously) on our laps. She gets so proud when she stands, sits in her bumbo, or rolls over. You can see it all over her face, it's so sweet. She has also recently learned she can make new sounds. We have a little pterodactyl on our hands. She loves toys and is so good at grabbing and hitting them. She grabs onto this giant, plush, singing bumble bee with her hands and feet at the same time. She looks like a little otter, and much like everything she does it's the cutest :)
We think this baby girl might be teething already. The drool if flowing, she is chomping hard on everything on one side of her mouth, one side of her gums is bright white, and just seems like she is whimpering in pain sometimes. It breaks my heart. She has been getting lots of playtime, some all natural teething tabs, the occasional baby tylenol, and extra nursing time to distract from it. She is still sleeping great at night. She sleeps for about 6-7 hours, wakes up for a quick bite to eat, and sleeps for another 2-2.5 hours waking up pretty much every morning at 8:50 am on the dot. I'd say that's pretty good for a 3 month old. She is so happy and playful in the morning, it's the best!
We fall more in love with this precious baby girl every single day. It's pretty much impossible not to.
She's serious about making bubbles

One month
Our sweet baby Violet is already a month old! I can't believe how fast it has gone. Well, she is actually almost 5 weeks old now, but these photos were taken on the day she turned one month. She has changed so much since the day she was born. She is so alert, and as you can see below, has an array of faces she likes to make. She is already so opinionated and very loudly let's us know when something is not to her liking (she gets the loudness from her daddy). Here are some of Violet's likes and dislikes:
Likes:
Milk
Her pink, white, and purple blankie
Tiny party hats
Cuddling on mama and daddy's chest
Riding in the car
Shopping with mama and Poppie (grandma)
The sound of the camera shutter
Sitting up like a big girl
Dislikes:
Bath time (hopefully this changes)
Being Swaddled
Getting buckled into her car seat
Hiccups
Going to sleep at a decent hour
We love this little one so much and can't get over how cute she is! It is so much fun to watch her grow and develop. We are so blessed!
Every month we will be making a new hat that corresponds with how old she is and taking pictures. Eeeeppp, so fun!

Project Mobile
I finally tackled one of the nursery projects on my to-do-list! Violet's mobile is done! Yippeee! I have had this idea in my head for a while. I ordered the metal structure from Urban Outfitters, which is supposed to be a photo holder, but I had this in mind for it.
I took styrofoam balls of different sizes, wrapped smaller ones in scrap fabric and yarn. For the larger ones I quartered circles of fabric and pinned them into the styrofoam to create a flower like pom-pom. The actual mobile structure had to be taken apart and re-arranged about six times to make sure it hung just right and balanced out correctly. That was a chore! We haven't hung it over her crib yet because we lack the hardware to do so to make sure it is safe to hang.
I am so happy with the way it turned out, especially since I didn't have to get out and go buy more supplies for it. I took a look at what I had in my craft closet and made it work. Go me!
