5 months

Violet is 5 months old! We say all the time how we feel like we should still be at the hospital about to bring her home. This past month had been full of firsts. She has started sleeping in her own room for about 6-7 hours then comes to our bed to nurse around 6:00 or 6:30 and then gets up for the day around 9:30 or 10:00. Those are my absolute favorite times with her in the early morning when the sun starts streaming into our room as she eats and we snuggle as we both fall back to sleep. Ahh, it's the best. We have also started easing her onto solid food with a little rice cereal in the evenings. She is a big fan of the rice cereal. Before and after every bite she says "mmmmm", flails her arms and legs, and gives a grunt of approval. We tried some mashed bananas the day she turned 5 months. She was not impressed. She also went to the nursery at church for the first time. She went in without any qualms, but I was a wreck. When we picked her up she was pretty upset, so, (mostly for my sake) we might hold off on trying the nursery again. Her personality is started to show more and more. For the most part she is pretty reserved, but at the same time you can see how silly and goofy she is going to be. It is so fun to watch her grow.

I love everything about this little person. I love her tiny upper lip. I love her silent laughs. I love how her tiny upper lip disappears when she laughs. I love her milk mustaches. I love the bald spot on the back of her head (which is now filling in). I love her droopy dog cheeks. I love her big wet kisses. I love her babbles and squeals. I just love her.
